Our mission is to provide transformational experiences that inspire commitment to creating equitable, sustainable solutions
for a more just and peaceful world.
Our Vision
The SOL Center works with strategic partners to support, develop and deliver educational programs, innovative experiential learning, seminars, and summits, that support collaboration across sectors and borders to drive progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The SOL Center brings together local and international learners, practitioners, and leaders to collaboratively engage
in place-based education, problem solving, and research within host culture contexts.
This cross-pollination of diverse cultural and ancestral wisdom, ideas, and practices generates innovative solutions that help drive progress on global and local initiatives like Hawai‘i’s Aloha + Challenge.
Our Goals
To create a movable feast of experiential learning and collaborative engagement opportunities across diverse locations, cultures, and contexts to provide in-depth exploration and experience of sustainability issues and practices, that promote inclusive, innovative solutions to local and global challenges.
To coordinate participant engagement with individual, organizational and natural resources throughout Hawai‘i connecting the specific with the systemic challenges and solutions to climate change.
To build a dedicated online platform that fosters long-term relationships, nurtures international understanding, and supports project sharing and social networking for the ongoing exchange of ideas and information, project coaching and support.
